RÉMY MARTIN

Since its inception in 1724, Rémy Martin has seen and survived the vagaries of time and history, and flourished in all manners of great taste. After all, three centuries of excellence in Cognac-making is nothing to sniff at—only a handful can boast of such longevity and relevance. Still counted in a global market perpetually looking for something new, different, and modern, 300 incredible years of Rémy Martin needs to be celebrated with an equally epic toast, so why not make it from the limited-edition demijohn from an old cellar?

Created by cellar master Baptiste Loiseau—he was appointed the role at age 34, the youngest ever in Cognac history—expect the finest sip crafted from Rémy Martin’s Réserve Perpétuelle, “a precious collection of exceptional eaux-de-vie, exclusively from the Grande Champagne terroir, saved and passed forward by generations of cellar masters,” as per the brand.

Loiseau drew on the previous coupe of the 290th anniversary, dashed in a selection of eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, and formulated this luminous amber patina with a nose of candied orange, passion fruit, sandalwood, leather, mixed spices, and a hint of floral notes. Complementing the long finish of the palate, the discerning taster should find hints of fig, exotic fruits, nuts, and discreet oaky notes for a marriage of “elegance and tension.”

Loiseau, forging a link between dreamers of the past and generations of talent passing on their legacy skills, says that “the perpetual reserve is as much a process as a legacy. When a new blend is created, part of it is set aside for future cellar masters. In turn, they will use it for the next anniversary coupe.” For Rémy Martin’s 300th Anniversary Coupe, Loiseau enriched the blend “with the treasures of our cellars and Grande Champagne terroir, which will be the legacy I leave to the next generation. By reserving some eaux-de-vie from this precious Coupe 300th Anniversary, the story will continue for future generations.”

Rémy Martin has released this limited-edition 300th Anniversary Coupe to celebrate its landmark year, bottling liquid gold for connoisseurs of all ages and stages in life to sample from its iconic carafe. Only 6,724 individually numbered bottles are available worldwide.

What we’ve also loved about this anniversary is that, instead of looking back with nostalgia, the house is marking the occasion with a futuristic theme: “We Dream Forward.” Loiseau explains, “For 300 years, the house of Rémy Martin has shared its knowledge and expertise from one generation to the next. Today, this extends beyond the legacy of the family, and we work as a team with all stakeholders of Rémy Martin to reach sustainable excellence together. We have all inherited a responsibility to protect our soils for the future generations. By partnering with winegrowers from Grande and Petite Champagne, by mentoring new talents all over the world, we strive to perpetuate this family legacy for another 300 years.”

Rémy Martin’s 300th Anniversary Coupe is now available in Hong Kong.
