Drawing from ancient Lanna culture, the hotel emphasises the importance of chang sip mu, the 10 traditional and essential craftsmanship trades that characterised the Chiang Mai of old. Hong’s Sky Bar, perched on the hotel rooftop, offers some of the best views of town.

The Island Shangri-La is no slouch when it comes to dining either—with Restaurant Petrus, Lobster Bar & Grill, Nadaman, Ming Pavilion, and Summer Palace under its roof, food is unmistakably a highlight.
